Diving with Malaillo
Each dive with Malaillo is meticulously planned and divers are briefed thoroughly on what to expect beofre the dive. Most dive days will include 4 dives, 3 during the day and 1 at night. This will be altered for the first and last days of a tour, during long crossings, or if weather conditions are unfavorable.
Each group of a maxium of 4 divers will dive with 4 of our professional dive guides. Free Nitrox is availble for divers who are Nitrox certified, and Nitrox courses are possible for a fee for those who would like to get certified. Each dingy is equipped with a radio transmission system and each diver can make use of a ENOS GPS beacon which Malaillo provides for the guests.
The Dive Deck
Our dive deck is designed with your convenience and safety in mind, offering a personal diving station for each diver. This open space allows you to mount your equipment and have your scuba tanks filled on-site. With ample room to gear up, dedicated storage boxes for each diver, and rinse tanks readily available, your diving experience is made seamless. For photographers, there's a secure camera room adjacent to the dive deck, providing easy access to your gear.
Safety Standards
Every detail of Malaillo has been meticulously planned, built, and operated with safety at the forefront. The lower deck is equipped with multiple emergency exits leading to the main deck. In the event of a fire, smoke detectors and clearly marked fire extinguishers are strategically placed throughout the vessel. Personal flotation devices are readily available, and we have four liferafts on board, each accommodating up to 15 passengers. Additionally, signal flares are on hand for emergency situations. To prevent service interruptions, we have backup generators, anchor vices, dinghies, compressors, and water filtration systems in place.
For your safety, Malaillo is outfitted with the ENOS (Submersible GPS beacon) electronic emergency and location system, which is crucial when diving in areas with strong currents. We also provide advanced medical emergency equipment, including oxygen supplies, an automated external defibrillator (AED), an oxygen/pulse meter, and comprehensive first aid kits. Our crew is thoroughly trained in safety protocols to ensure that you are well-protected during your time aboard.
The Malaillo Liveaboard staff will do everything possible to ensure your stay is enjoyable and memorable.
